I. Hate. Elders (OPEN TO ANYONE) « Thread Started on Jul 6, 2009, 12:00am »
Chris was doing what he usually did. Venting. And when Chris vented, he liked to vent on demons. Especially these stupid little swarm demons that populated this area of the underworld. They werent real swarms though, as if they died, they died, but there were lots of lower level demons in this area and he loved it. He could vent for as long as he wanted. God he hated the elders. Once again they called him up there to try and make him do their job for them. As far as he was considered the Elders could go... no. Take it out on the demons. Armed with dozens of potions that he had taken from the read stock at Magic School that Wyatt made available to any witch or teacher, made by his potions class and tested to make sure that they worked, he had already had a fair little rampage of his own and vanquished maybe seven demons. Enough to get rid of his immediate anger. But not enough to erase it completely. Never was. Especially when that anger came from the Elders. That was always stronger than almost any other cause of his anger. Chris had no doubt that the anger with the Elders would go a long way down the line of Halliwells. At least it would if his brother ever got out into the world.
Another demon crept around the corner and raised its hand to throw a fireball, but Chris was faster. Swinging his arm he tossed the demon against the wall with telekinesis, and flicked a potion at him, sending him down into the wasteland. Bloody Elders. Why couldnt they just do their own dirty work themselves. He was busy enough without them calling him up there at every opportunity just to try and assign him tasks and charges and who knows what else that they wanted him to do. Besides, he had told them before that the only charges that he would protect were the ones that he found through his witch duties. No matter his heritage or powers, he was no whitelighter. And he certainly did WANT to be a whitelighter either. Especially not if it meant having to do more with the Elders then he already had to deal with. He moved through the tunnels into a large room with lots of pillars and steam vents. Why on earth would you chose to live here. He honestly didnt know how the demons standed it. But then he knew from his experience with demons that they didnt know how the humans and witches stood the outside world either.
It was a strange world that they lived in. Neither side pure good but neither side pure evil. Wyatt was the perfect example in that. In fact anyone in the Halliwell family was, let alone anyone else that had magical ties. Normal people could go either way. It was their nature. Could be turned to either side. It was their part in the Grand Design. Stupid thing. Sneaking through the corridors of the Underworld still Chris kept going looking for more demons for which to vent his anger on...

"This isn't working!" Melinda Halliwell said to herself as she dropped the scrying crystal on her desk. The young witch was currently tracking a demon or warlock who had been targeting witches in her area. She had been gathering evidence and trying to figure out a pattern, if there was any. Melinda was a smart girl and was trying to figure it out. Currently, she had no luck except that all his victims were female. Three girls in the last three days. Today was the fourth and there was going to be a fourth target, Melinda had until the sun set to find him, stop him, and save another innocent witch. Melinda also wondered why the witches didn't defend themselves from the demon or warlock. She knew, from experience, that not all witches had active powers and that they could use to defend themselves. That's why the Warren line of witches were always so proactive and destined to fight the good fight and protect people who couldn't protect themselves from the forces of darkness. Why us? Melinda sometimes wondered. Of all the witches in the world, why their line? There must have been multiple clans of witches who also fought demons, but maybe not all of them resided in San Francisco. Even though, there were many here. San Francisco just seemed like the hub of all sorts of magic.
Melinda walked over to her closet, where she kept here box of potions and other magical equipment. She was glad that she had finally gotten her own dorm room, because she wouldn't have to risk the life of her roommate and magical exposure. She was able to practice her witchcraft alone and also have the privacy she liked. Melinda grabbed two teleporting potions. She had decided to go to the Underworld to hunt for her target. She knew that if she wasn't able to scry for him, that he would be in down there. Aiden, her whitelighter had informed her of the target and said that he had been very evasive and that he would talk to other whitelighters and get their charges working on finding him. The Elders were worried about him attacking more witches and gathering more abilities.
If anything, Melinda would call her cousins and The Power of Three could deal with it. They were finally getting the hang of being witches and their powers were progressing. Melinda had tons of work to do, but it was summer and she was off. She didn't have to worry about school and was able to focus on her job and magic. Also, since it was summer, Melinda was going to go back to Magic School, where her parents currently resided and stay with them for awhile. She was putting it off because she had everything she needed here, but she still missed her mom and dad.
Along with the teleporting potions, Melinda also grabbed some explosive and stun potions just in case she ran into some other nasties while down there. She knew she was well equipped with her freezing power and her telepathy but it never hurt to bring back up. Melinda had also been working on her telepathic ability and was able to do many things that she wasn't able to before. She couldn't wait to use it on a demon. She had tried it on her cousin Anabel once or twice, but just to plant a small thought. Melinda put her box of potions away and placed the ones she had gotten out and into a small potions purse. She held the one teleporting potion and threw it between her feet, letting the smoke engulf her and bring her down to the Underworld. Once there, Melinda looked around. It was still the same. Not any different since Melinda last came down. It had been awhile since the witch had visited. She had been hunting down a different demon then. She didn't even know what she was looking for. There was little information on this demon, and Aiden told her all he knew. He was male and attacked with an athame and wielded blue thermal fireballs. At least there was one specific detail. There was also nothing in the Book of Shadows when she popped over at the Manor.
Melinda walked through an empty cavern and kept her eyes, senses, and telepathy peeled. Even if they were invisible and as long as they were thinking, Melinda would be able to sense them. Stupid Elders, I'm no whitelighter! Melinda picked up. Now, this voice sounds very familiar, the witch thought to herself. She began to pick up a few more things, nothing to alarming, just extreme anger towards the Elders. She walked into the next cavern and saw the back of a familiar figure. "Figures you'd be down here," Melinda said. It was her big brother, Chris. "Long time no see."

Chris's senses warned him only seconds before a fireball was thrown at his head. he ducked it and tossed the demon onto a natural underworld spike of stone. those things really did make very handy weapons, especially when you had telekinesis and could aim demons right onto them. He had a brief thouh of wonder how many deamons had been vanquished by witches in this same way and how many demon had met their end accidentally. Having known a few clumsy demons in his time. He didn't doubt that it would be a few. He could just imagine a demon falling over and landing on one of them, managing to vanquish itself. he got rid of the crazy thoughts that seemed to be coming into his head more and more often and focused on finding some more demons. He felt like he was doing what he brother did. it was well known in the underworld that it's saver to be on the mortal plane when Wyatt was angry.
At least they hadn't called him back. that at least was a givens. usually they would call him back to try and convince him again. And even they weren't above forcing an orb every now and again if it suited their purposes. Sometimes he really thought that Elders were just totally pointless things. They did remind him of something that he had read in one of his greek mythology books though. About Clotho, The first sister of fate. He focused back on the present again and before he knew it someone was speaking to him. he turned around only to be confronted with his sister, Melinda. No doubt she had tracked him here through her telepathy. Today was not the right day for this though. But he never had right timing for this. "Uh... hey, Mel. Yeah, long time no see. I came to see you the other day but you were in a class." He didn't make a point of lying. She would be able to tell anyway. "Hunting?" he asked curiously. He didn't mention the elders. No doubt she already knew. This was why he occasionally made a point of keeping a distance from his sister and anyone with telepathy, you could never know when they were listening. And there were just somethings that he just didn't want people to know.

Since the witchling had received her telepathic gift, she had noticed that a lot of people had known about her gift had steered away from her, knowing that at any given moment, Melinda would be able to tap into their mind and know everything about them. Or, some embarrassing things about them. People wouldn't be able to hide anything from her, 'cause she would just be able to use her power to find out the truth. But that was the last thing Melinda wanted to do. She respected people's privacy and when she would find things out, it was because most likely caused by a telepathic mishap. She didn't have full control yet, but was still working on it. The power was very useful, and Melinda knew it would come in great handy once she got the logistics of it. Melinda had no idea what the connection telepathy had with her original power of temporal statis, but didn't argue it. It was kind of like her aunt Phoebe and her gift to see the future and levitation. Destiny worked in weird ways.
"Oh, really?" Melinda asked. It was actually a surprise that someone from her family had visited her on campus, especially one of her brothers. They weren't as close as they had been before. Nothing really caused their drifting away, it was just their different interests and their busy lives. "It was either that, work, or demons. Yeah, I'm actually tracking a demon who's been roaming around my campus. I really don't know much about him. Incessant little th-" Melinda stopped as she caught a voice in her head. Stupid witches, leave already! Melinda whipped her head around to see where the voice was coming from. Chris, stay quiet. There's a demon here, I'm pretty sure there's only one. But I'll freeze the cave, and can you try to sense him. Melinda threw up her hands and made a motion with her wrist as her power activated, 'causing the non good witches to stop in time. Because the cave was frozen, Melinda wouldn't be able to use her telepathy so find where he was, but she knew that her brother could try using his whitelighter power to locate it.
Melinda took out an explosive potion from her mini drawstring bag. ""Purple, just the way I like it." Melinda said. The potion contained ingredients that basically replicated her mother's combustion power. Melinda was gifted with a similar ability to her mothers but hers didn't revolve around molecules like her cousins did, but instead, was actually time.
As Melinda began to scope out the room for the demon, who could be hiding among the array of stalagmites and stalactites and wondered why the demon didn't just shimmer out when it saw Chris there and Melinda joining him later.
